Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

On one hand its fabulous that we have the science to be able to do this because potentially we could make it rain where there is a drought and ensure that crops had enough rain and sun. However, on the other hand the dangers of messing with what is supposed to be natural could have catastrophic consequences to our environment.

i agree. that would be nice so we dont have to ever worry about world hunger, but i bet the gov. wont finance something like that. but then again what goes around comes around. we might think this is a great idea but if something goes wrong, its gonna be bad!!

I heard the mayor of Moscow Ruissia was going to try this, to keep snow out of the city.

Yea I had actually read that also. I am torn over it though. Because like I said I think its amazing that we have this kind of scientific ability that could do some potential good, but I dont think we have enough knowledge of how it could effect the earth long term to judge whether it is something we should do.
